General notes | CIL III,2 read HO+oni instead of [Rucc]oni (cf. Lupa) at first. Both readings are very hypothetical due to the bad condition of the gravestone. NPC reconstructs *rudsco-, *roudsco- DLG2 reconstructs *rudcio-; but connection to PIE root *h1reudh- 'red' (EDPC 316) is not the only one possible; pace Meid also PIE *reuk- (IEW 869f.) would do. |
