General notesThe orthographic vacillation of -ss- and -st- is to be considered as an indication for Tau Gallicum, cf. Gaul. buđđutton (?) 'little kiss' (DAG 164), cf. Stifter 2004 (FS Dobesch): 764. For *bussu- 'lip, kiss' cf. MIr. bus 'lip' (KGP 158, Meid 128f.), less probable *buzdo- 'tail, penis' (EDPC 86) as in PN Artebudz 'penis of a bear'.
