General notescf. PN Marcosena (KGP 237). Writing of root vowel as remains unclear. Moreover, the u-vowel in the "Kompositionsfuge" is remarkable, as to *marco- 'horse' being an o-stem in Celtic as far as we know. Translation of the name "the one whose horses are old / with old horses" or less likely "as old as a horse".
